Failed job.

Hello Experts,

We have a job ( in RSPC) which run daily & calculates the keyfigure's value for all CVCs present in the system.

From past two days, the jobs fails in RSPC, but shows completed status ( green ) in SM37.

Spool shows message with RED error - "The selected data is currently locked by user", but this message was shown earlier too, when job ended OK in RSPC as well as in SM37.

Please help to unfold this mystery. Thank You

Hello,

In SM37 your job must be in the finish/complited status.

In the past we also faced similar issue. it is SAP standard.

We have wrote customized program to comeover this problem.

In RSPC it takes the status of the JOB whether it is cancelled/ completed or not.

I am not sure in the latest version of the APO is there any userexit where we can check the spool details and as per it change the status of the job.

Thanks for your reply.

This case is happening only for one job, rest of them show pertinent relationship with RSPC log & SM37.

Does this have any relationship between data locked by the user ?

Hi,

The job run through RSPC (Process Chain) is running the Planning Job with suffix SCM_DP005. which you can see using SM37 also.

There is no link of status between the planning job and SM37 job. You should use /SAPAPO/MC8K to check the

status of the job.

What you can do is to get help from ABAP to check active users and generate notification to users in system before running the process chain.

Thanks for your input.

Locking of users has been happening in since a year ( but the job never showed red in the RSPC log ).

Users do get pop-ups from the system ( as - ID locked by PROCESS APO , where PROCESS APO is the ID which automatically trigerrs & calculate the values for the KF in the planning book )

To be precise - Users get above pop-up when they work on the same CVC on which system is calculating the value at same time,- but this doesnt link me to that how job can be seen RED in RSPC & completed in SM37 & /SAPAPO/MC8K.
