The role of a pricing procedure is to define a group of condition types in a particular sequence.
A condition type is a representation in the system of some aspect of pricing activities like : price, customer discount, taxes... Etc.
You determine the calculation type for a condition type in Customizing depending on your needs.
I'll give you an example:
You define the condition type for a special material discount. You specify that the system calculates the discount as an amount (for example, a discount of USD 1 per sales unit).
Alternatively, you can specify that the system calculates the discount as a percentage (for example: a 2% discount for orders over 1,000 units).
You can even use both possibilities.
Finally, an access sequence is a search strategy that the system uses to find valid data for a particular condition type.
For example:
You can define different kinds of prices depending on your strategy. You may have:
A basic price for a material
A special customer-specific price for the same material
I think you can find more details in SD FAQ.
Regards,
Bahia.
