MRP related query

Dear Friends

I have created BOM, transferred BOM (CN33) to project activity.

I did run MRP (MD51). System has created reservation. Now how this reservation be converted in to planned order/ PR based on the available stock.

goto MD04..enter the corresponding Material no. and plant...the system will show u the reservation for the material.....under your project stock...u will see 'PurRqs' (if there is a PR) or 'PldOrd'(if there is planned order)....click the detail icon...in the pop window u will see 'to purchase order' or 'to prodn order'..click that it will take you to PO screen / Prodn order screen...this is wat i know..

I had already checked in MD04 before posting the thread.

I can see only "OrdRes" in MD04. Now my question is, how do I convert it to Planned order/ PR?

Run MD01 for the plant...PR or planned order will be created for the reservation

What is the difference between MD51 & MD01? As for as I know, for projects we have to run MD51 for MRP. MD01 is again MRP Run T-code in MM.

Since I have have already run MD51, do I again run MD01?

In MD01 system asks for "Scope of planning", what exactly it is? & what are releavant IMG settings required for ir? What "MRP control parameters" should be used?

After you run MD51, you need to run MD01 (plant level) or MD02 (single item multi-level) to plan the components. So just to test, after your MD51, run MD02, by specifying the material, you should find the pur req / planned order.

If MD51 is not generating Planned order or Pur. Req., then what could be wrong in PS side? What could be wrong in material side?

Is it always required to run MD01/ MD02 after running MD51?

MD51 will generate requirements like pld order n pur req for the materials maintained @ project stock...for materials maintained @ plant stock u will have to run MD01 or MD02

What is the method to maintain the material as project stock?

Because I feel i'm missing something. Whenever I do BOM transfer, I see reservation in CJ20N. But when I run MD51, nothing (planned ord./ Pur. Req) happens.

Please explain this. Thanks again.

1. Project stock indicated ticked in project profile.

2. Material must be maintained for ind or (ind/coll) requirement in material master (MRP 4 detail screen)

2. Select "Reservation for WBS' duirng material assignment

1.In Project profile, I have already selected, "project stock"

2.Here I have missed to maintain ind/coll, in MRP4 screen.

3.During material assignment I was selecting "reservation for network".

Regarding point no.2:

Do I need to maintain ind/coll in MRP4 screen, for header item (in BOM) only or for all the material in a particular BOM?

U have to maintain the indicator (indv or indv/coll) for the materials which will be assigned to the project objects....if u assign all the BOM components to the project objects then maintain the indicator for all the materials..

When I run MD51

I checked in MD04. System is generating PRs for the components, but it's not generating planned order for the header material.

What could be wrong?

It will create Planned order for those material whose having reservartion after creating Bom Transfer..

U did Bom Transfer....so while bom transfer..system will create reservations for materials..

When u will do MD51 project MRP run..then the sytem will create planned order...that planned order u have to convert it into production order manually..after that release it ...do GR so that material will go in stock...further u can do GI for particular production order.

Let me put my question straight forward.

I have created BOM, attached header material to internal activity (system creates reservation the moment I attach material to activity). I did BOM transfer.

Then I did run MD51. System does not create planned order for the header material. But for other components, PR is getting generated.

The issue is only with header material, for which, MD51 is not generating planned order for header material.

I hope I have put my problem in right way.

Hi,

Try with following settings in MD51.

->Planning Mode: 3-Delete and recreate planning data

I hope you have set proper MRP Type in MRP1, Procurement type in MRP2.

Hi,

Please validate whther you have maintained Procurement Type Indicator in MRP View 2 in MM.

It should be X or E for In-house Production.

Then again run the MRP MD51, it will surely generate the Planned order.
