Hi ,

we can maintain terms of payment in customer master

1) Sales Area data ( Billing tab) and 2) company code data ( payment transaction tab )

if you use T code FD01:- You can maintain payment terms in company code data as sales area data view wont be available. It means you can create customer for account purpose.

If you use T code VD01:- You can maintain payment terms in Sales area data as companu code data view wont available.It means you can create customer for sales purpose.

however if you use T code XD01 :- You can maintain payment terms in Sales area data and compnay code data too. Here you can create customer centrally.

Hope it answers your query

Thanks

Hi Naresh,

You can maintain the 'Terms of paymment' at 3 places

1.Condition record - VK11

2.Customer Master - Sales area

3.Custmer Master - Company code data

Out of the above 3 , Condition record has the priority as far as the determination of 'Terms of Payment' concerned in sales Order at Item level.

If it is not maintained it will get determined from Customer master Sales view.

And in FI perspective, for accounting or FI billing it gets determind from the Customer Master - Company code data.

I hope this clarifies your query

Hi

Payment terms maintained in the sales area had a priority when sales is done in that respective sales area.

How ever payment terms maintained at cc level will be applicable for all the sales area for which payment terms are not maintained

In other words, you can maintain multiple payment terms for the same customer depending upon sales area ( sales org + disctribution chnl + division)

If you invoice via SD route, system will consider Payment Terms from Sales Area data.

If you do invoice via FI route, then it will consider Payment Terms from Accounting view.

=> VF01 = SD Billing

=> FB70 = FI Billing

Also if credit management is activated, system will give priority to Accounting tab

thanks

Hi Laxmipathi,

1) Can you please clarify on the point FI billing done through FI route? where does it is applicable and why it would be needed.

2) When an order is negotiated with a customer for some payment terms, how can we maintain two different payment terms for the same customer with the same sales area one at the CC level and other at sales area level ?

Regards.
