Upgrade query?

Hi Friends

In upgrade project from SRM 3.0 to SRM 5.0, From which system master data is copied in SRM 5.0 DEV server. Is it copied from Backend systems or SRM 3.0 QAS.

SRM 3.0 Prod to SRM 5.0 Dev( as QA might be out of sync)

SRM 3.0 connected ECC to SRM 5.0 Dev connected ECC.

when upgrading from SRM 3.0 to SRM 5.0, Is Config data and RICEF data migrated from SRM 3.0 QAS to SRM 5.0 DEV or does it need to be done manually.

Hi,

All the standard configurations are migrated, except custom changes..

cutom changes has to fix manually..

Means RICEF data cannot be transferred from SRM 3.0 QAS to SRM 5.0 DEV server.RICEF data must configured manually in SRM 5.0. This is what u wanted to tell

Hi Vinny,

It totally depends on what kind of activity you are trying to do.

Master data like Material Master,Service Master,Material Group ,Vendor Master are created in R/3 (ECC) backend system and replicated into SRM box. So ideal situation will be to copy master data into backend system and then replicate into SRM box using middleware available in SRM server.

If you need live production data,you need to copy these objects from live system or QA system depending on your need.
