Is Solution Manager capable of consuming a webservice?
If yes, where can I find a documents/help files which gives more information.
Does Solution Manager need the java stack for working with webservices?
Would appreciate if someone could help.
Thanks
Prasad

Thanks for your response Prakhar.
In this case the customer is using a non-SAP support desk software.
When the support ticket is created in the software, it has to be updated in the Solution Manager (ie. a corr support ticket will be created in solman). The software uses webservice to transer the data. Solman needs the capability to receive the data from the webservice (this is called consuming a webservice).
Webservice is just another way of transferring information, such as iDocs, RFC/BAPIs etc
Hope this clear now.

Ok
So it seems you need to integrate a 3rd party service desk with solution manager.
In this case please goto spro transaction in solman here
expand
solution manager->scenarion specific settings->third party integration->external service desk
Here visit all the IMG help for the documentation
Goto to these steps one by one with IMG help and implement the same you can then connect the external service desk with yours.
In addition you can check this guide for Webservice API...
Hope it solves your problem

Hi Prakhar,
Thanks for the info. Didnt know such a webservice feature existed. Hopefully this should solve the problem. Anyways, I shall keep this thread updated if there is anything more related to this.
The guide is a good source of information. Can you give me more such guides for such advanced scenarios in solman?
Thanks in advance
Prasad
