Standard MDM iView Error: "Request failed; see log"

Hi,

I am working with MDM 7.1 standard Business Content.

The ResultSet iView works fine in isolation but when combined with a Search iView there is a error message "Request Failed; see log for details" displayed in ResultSet iView.

Sometimes the error message is displayed and sometimes it's not. The NetWeaver Log shows message "Failed to create event handler for null".

Any idea what's the cause behind?

Problem solved.

The issue was with the Portal version. A latest portal patch was applied, this resolved the issue.

Hi Suresh,

Are you using standard MDM iViews to connect to the Serach and result set iViews?

If so it should work fine if you have deployed the rigth sca files on the portal and made the necessary settings:

You need to deploy the 3 sca files:

- MDM JavaAPI.sca

- BPMDMTECHN.sca

- BPMDMAPPL.sca.

Make sure these 3 sca files are of the same version as the MDM server and then restart your portal server after deployment of these files.

Also make sure you are making the right search in the serach iView and not violating any MDM property.

Hi Simona,

Thanks for providing the information. I will have a check of the version of 3 files. But in our case the standard application work fine for the first time(mostly) and show the error message in the subsequent operation with the iViews.

In case there was a version conflict the application will not work for the first time also. What do u think?

Hi Suresh,

Why don't you try with a simple Custom Defined repository with few fields and few records.

Then try integrating this through the portal using the search and the result set iview in combination.

Make sure to place the Search and the Result set iview in a single page.
