Hi,

While upgrading basis patches from SAPKB70012 to SAPKB70016,

we were unsuccesful in applying patches & also we are getting abap runtime error

Syntax error in program "SAPICP__ ".

None of the abap programs are working...hence is there any way we can revert back to orginal.

Regards,

Rachel

With the below solution problem got resoved.

Please check the entries in extraction queues in all clients

(this can be checked with transaction SMQ1 if you enter client * on the

selection screen). The installation of the support package may affect

all clients, they are all checked.

Note 328181 is also relevant for this error but I believe you have

already reviewed this note, if not then please review this note

In addition to SMQ1, please also check SM58 for any old tRFC requests.

If the error still occurs, then also check if setup tables still

contain data by running the report RMCEX_SETUP_ENTRIES. This may lead tothe error mentioned above. Please clear all setup tables in all clients

with transaction LBWG and check if the problem is solved afterwards.

This is described in Note 640066, which refers to an upgrade, but some

of the information is relevant for support packages too.

After you solve the above, can you please follow note 1113868

which mentioned:

"If this error has already occurred, you can repeat the activation phase The error will then no longer occur."

what is the current phase? main import? if so, creat a sap message, the main

import phase shoule be done by sap internal commands.

I had the same problem going from SAPKB70014 to SAPKB70018. I found a solution in this thread:

https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=23166812&messageID=4819298

It involves running SPAM from the OS level using the tp command. Some warn in the thread not to run it without input/permission from SAP. My only other option was to restore from backup so I gave it a shot and it worked for me.

Hi Rachel,

You can only reset the support packs queue again from the begining if module IMPORT1 has not yet started. if its reached that phase then you have to resolve the error by urself or with the help of SAP.

still also you want to reset the status of your queue then thre is only one way that is restore of the previous backup.

I have one query for you.

1) Did you check the stack guide for the dependencies between BASIS patches i mean (12-16).

if every thing is ok then ask support from SAP.

any wayz please check the below link for the known issues with support packs.

Simple Answer... No.

If you're in stuck in the middle of the patch you need to fix the problem and resume the patching.

Can you please let us know whats the error?... have you check the Notes related to the patch for "known issues"?...

Hey Rachel

You will not be able to revert back to the previous patch level.I would suggest you to ask SAP to have a look into this. Please raise a customer message for the same.

Rachel

I would suggest you to reimport the patches, most probably the error will not reoccur and if still the error occurs ask SAP to login and check
