Hi..

Advantages of using this RNIF adapter.. and i want to know when can we prefer this adapter and when custmizing the scenario's with this RNIF adapter what are the IR objects required..

Rosetta Net adapter's configurations in ID. many Mandatory fields where some data is internally populating, when we costmize the scenario in such cases what should be given.

Hi,

RNIF adapter is particularly used for high tech industry(hareware products like hard disks, RAM,......)

Business Benefits

From the compatibility construct, the XML-based Inter Organizational System (IOS) solution earned greater compatibility levels in four of the five common task needs as compared to the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solution.

The RNIF adapters can perform the following tasks

1. Sending the messages from XI to a RosettaNet system.

2. Receiving the messages from a RosettaNet system.

3. At Runtime it retrieves the business signals, transport, and package and route all Partner Interface Processes (PIP) messages from the Integration Repository and Integration Directory.

4. RosettaNet provides the measures to the security, authentication, authorization, confidentiality, and message integrity.

Check this below links then you will get the complete details of how sender and receiver RNIF communication channel configuration with explanation of all the fields

PIP means Partner Interface Processes, to know the PIP series Vijay already provided the good wiki link

Hi Kishore,

I am giving you below the best material that is availabe for RNIF.

If you want to implement RNIF adapter you may want to have a look at the following blogs:

the RNIF adapter is used when XI needs to send Rosettanet PIP (RNIF document format) to a trading partner.

This is a high tech industry standard and is mostly seen in B2B integration.

When you do a rosettanet scenario, SAP has provided you Pre delivered content (found in service market place) for RNIF. But please note that the content is only for the Order to Invoice scenario (PIP 3 series .. ex. PIP3A4, PIP3B2 etc)

Nothin is mandatory populated. You have to give all configuration parameters. But when you use the content from SAP, then the ID comes with templates for Communication channel that has most of the fields already populated by SAP which is customizable further.

HI,

May i know what is PIP series, we didn't import any predefined RNIF scenarios into the Basis component.

for Order to Invoice the PIPs involved will be,

Search for Order to Invoice or Rosettanet in market place for the Content download.

Hi,

RNIF is a open web standard for exchanging business documents with Business partners in a secure way.

You need to import the RNIF packages in Repository. It should be available at market place.

>Rosetta Net adapter's configurations in ID. many Mandatory fields where some data is internally populating, when we costmize the scenario in such cases what should be given.

Can you explain this more...........?

Hi! All.

Here I am providing some inputs regarding RNIF adapter..

SAP Net Weaver Process Integration (PI) as XML-based message broker supporting Rosetta Net Implementation Framework (RNIF) 1.1 and 2.0 protocols, it provides an RNIF Adapter to interface with Rosetta Net complaint message partners

Features

The RNIF adapters can perform the following tasks:

● Send messages from XI to a RosettaNet-compliant system.

● Receive messages from a RosettaNet-compliant system.

● Transport, package, and route all PIP messages, and business signals based on the relevant information retrieved at runtime from the Integration Repository and Integration Directory.

● Provide measures to enforce the security, authentication, authorization, confidentiality, and message integrity.

The RNIF Adapter can be configured for the following scenarios:

● Single-Action Initiator

● Single-Action Responder

● Two-Action Initiator

● Two-Action Responder

In each of these scenarios, you

RosettaNet is named after Rosetta stone

A consortium of more than 500 companies founded in 1998

u2022 Create and implement Internet-based e-biz standards in High-Tech Industry

u2022 Boards: Information Technology (IT), Electronic Components (EC), Semiconductor Manufacturing (SM), Software Providers (SP), Telecommunication (newly formed)

Rosetta Net Members are::

Most of the top High-Tech companies around the world:

Sony, TSMC, UMC, SMIC

Intel, Cisco, TI, HP, Dell, Applied Materials, Motorola, Molex

Nokia, STM

SAP, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, i2, webMethods, TIBCO

Main Component in the RNIF are PIPS...Partner Interface Processes..

RNIF Adapter does the follwing fucntions::

u2022 Structural verification of the message headers

u2022 Handling of message security

u2022 RosettaNet defined error handling procedure

u2022 Message monitoring and auditing

u2022 React to failures in the back-end applications

NOTE:: In order to do any test scenario using RNIF other than real time you need an STK (Self Testing Tool KIT ) to get an simulation of RNIF messages and also to handle responses.

Also this tool requires for CIDX and PIDX messages.

Note:: If anyone works on RNIF please provide the required configration and business steps that are invlved in PI point of view.
