Add Printer.

Hi,

I have some simple queries as below,

- How do i install a printer in SAP ?

- Do i have to do any changes in the local windows user printer name or settings for the printing to work from SAP ?

- Is the printer setup in SAP common for all printers, i.e. a common model that works for all or have to install printer drivers to support different models.

Can someone provide link to step-by-step installation and configuration of printer in SAP ?

Please guide.

Thanks.

Kalpesh.

Hi Kalpesh

There is not required to Add any printer in SAP.

It should be installed to the client system from which you are going to print.

If you want to change the page formate and page settings you can do it in SAP.

Administration----

> System Initialization -

> Print Preferances.

If you are using Remote services like Citrix, Go-Global, windows terminal services. Then you need to install Client Printer drivers on the Server.

I hope this will give you an idea.

Thanks & Regards

All,

Thanks for reply.

I have these doubts because, our consultants say that, we have to rename all printers as such that it should not contain any spaces. For example - my printer name is "HP Laserjet 1100" then it must be renamed to "HPLaserjet1100" in order to print from SAP, else we cannot print from SAP.

Please guide on this.

Thanks,

Kalpesh.

Hi Kalpesh,

It's funny to hear that , there is no such limitaion with SAP B one .

It's confirm .

It will take all printers installed in your window on which sap is installed .

Hi Kalpesh,

Add printer only applies to Window system. As soon as you add a printer to Windows, SAP can use that printer to print. You don't need to add printer for B1.

Thanks,
