Hi

I tried to install SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 SP3 ABAP Trial Version on Misrosoft Windows XP Professional

Version 2002 Service Pack 3.

During installation I got message:

The following Windows operating system version is supported: Windows Server 2003 (i. e. Version 5.2) and Windows Server 2008 (i. e. Version 6.0). Current Windows version: Version 5.1, Service Pack 3.0, product type: Workstation.

In Installation guide is requested:

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) or Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista (english).

My question is - what OS I need for install SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 SP3 ABAP Trial Version

I am trying to install on windows server 2003 R2. But keep hitting the below error after I input the password for SAP users.

HI Mark,

I have problem as you, installation SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 on step # 18 "Import ABAP" with windows XP SP3 :

Error occurred during initialization of VM

Could not reserve enough space for object heap

Could not create the Java virtual machine.

I have Java Platform Standard Edition For Business build: 1.4.2_21-b03.

Do you have resolve that ?

If yes could you help me ?

We've got the same error in ECC6 - SR3 - IDES version.

I have some progress in my installation, but

on step # 18 "Import ABAP"

I got error message.

I don't understand.

SAPMNT folder was not created.

Hello Mark,

I would recommend uninstall and clean the installation folder and then first enable the File and printer sharing on then go for fresh installation, i dont think it will take much time.

Hello Mark,

Check the permission of
mark\sapmnt\

I htink you have not open the file and printer sharing on before starting the installation. Now what you can do is just right click and add the user sidadm & sapservice user on this folder.

After 'Cancel' I got message

Registry or SAP_DBTech information is available, but software is not complete.). You can now:

u2022 Choose Retry to repeat the current step.

u2022 Choose View Log to get more information about the error.

u2022 Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/NW701/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL/.

what is this mark-new? host name

Donot use special character, sap is not able to read special character

Mark,

It could be due to '-' character in your hostname. You can change host name with no spaces or special character and give a go. Also make sure there are no spaces in the installation directory.

Hi,

Sometimes the problem could be with one of your removable drives having a drive letter F assigned to it. You can check if you have a Virtual Disk Drive that has that drive letter and disable it or change its drive letter.
