Item category determination for Free goods

Hi Guru,

please can you tell me if there is a way to change manually into sales order the item category for free good sub item, automatically determined?

Manually I'm able to change only high level item category.

Hi

This is not a standard behaviour. There could be some enhancement in your case, for this functionality.

Please check whether the field HigherLevel Item is editable or not. This field is next to quantity field of the line item. Remove the value in this field and click enter. Check if the item category field is editable.

no, high level item is not modifiable in the sub item. It is grey

In item category detraction for free goods for eg (ORnormfreeTANTANN) this is normal but you maintain like this (ORnormfreeTANTANN add one more alternative item category in this tab that is Mitca in VOV4 by this it will show alternative item in sales order processing and at that time you can select manually

Document is below for tab Mitca in VOV4 (6u2019th tab)

Manual entries allowed for item category in the document

Specifies an item category that you can enter as an alternative to the automatic proposal from the system.

Use

When you enter an alternative item category during document processing, the system checks that the alternative is allowed.

thank you for your answer.

Alternative item categories for manual entry are already set in VOV4 but in the sales order item related for free goods has the item category field grey: alternatives set in VOV4 are displayed but you can't select any of them.

thank you very much to everybody.

Settings in T184 table for manual item category management is already done.

The problem is that into Sales Order, when sub-item for free goods is automatically determined (based on condition records), the item category of this sub item is grey and can't be changed manaully (you can open the match code to search available item categories; manual item categories are displayed but you can't select them).

I feel that your issue is related Sales BOM

You cannot use Free goods in BOM

Constraintsin free goods in R3 taken from SAP library

Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: u2018With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of chargeu2018 or u2018If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of chargeu2018.

Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).

Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).

Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.

Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.

If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix.

In VOV4 The manual item category has to be mentioned

Suppose the settings is like this

Sales doc type (OR) + Item category group (NORM) Item category of higher level item (BLANK) usage (BLANK )

For this combination Default item category has to be mentioned as TAN and manual item category can be mentioned or may not be mentioned

Suppose for this combination Manual if you mention as TANN

Then in sales order the default will be TAN and that can be changed only to TANN

Whatever that you mention in manual in VOV4 that particular key can only be used in sales order as manual input

In your case you may not have defined manual key for the sub item combination hence you are not getting

Whatever you define in VOV4 for manual item category can only be used manually

Changing Item category manually in the sales order is allowed only if the Manual Item Category is maintained in the Item Category determination(VOV4). In VOV4, for the assignment of this Item category in the fields manual item category (next to default item category), enter the item categories that are to be allowed as manual entries in sales order for this item category. Now try to change the item category in the sales order.

Hello ,

you could maintain additional item categries in the mnaul caterories for the entry in the item category determination .

in the line for the item category for free goods , maintain addtional categories

hope this helps to allow the additional categories
