Basis activities in XI,BW and EP

Hi,

I am working as a Basis consultant.What is the actual basis person work in XI,BW,EP and SRM?

Can you clarify me?Please.....

Hi,

Almost all the activities are same for each product. There are few individual configuration and administration have to do in each product..

BW

1. Integration between the other source system like SAP R3, Flat files and other source.

2. Configure the SSO between the Portal and ABAP system and some time to other products too.

3. Configure the BW client.

4. Security part have to do in info cubes and info object level.

5. While doing the system copy, we have to do few extra activities for the BW system.

6. Have to take care of configuration and authorization for BEx Tool.

Most of the Java stack systems, we will be doing the same kind of administration like below.

1. Maintain the systems.

2. Deploying the customized programs.

3. Configuring the SSO

4. Configuring the SLD(System Landscape Directory)

EP

1.Portal Permissions

2.User Management Configuration

3.Transport of Content Objects

4.Portal Themes

5.Portal Display Rules

6.Monitoring the Portal Server

XI

1. Mainly we should work on Messages.

2. Configuring Local I.E. (Integration Engine) for Proxy Communication,

3. Configuring SAP Applications for IDOC and RFC communications

4. Configuring Adapters (HTTP, SOAP, IDOC, RFC, File, Proxy, etc.

5. Monitoring & troubleshooting Adapter Instances and components

Hi,

Any box, Basis person has to do the administration to ensure hassel free run of the machines. Depending on the SAP technology you have to work on those areas accordingly, chk the documents individually for more info on this.
