Cluster installation Error on AIX with DB2

Hi,

During Databse Instace installation phase while excecuting "SAP UNCAR ARCHIVE" it stops and gives error unable to set permission on /sapmant/SVP/exe whereas I already set 777 permision on /sapmnt/SVP/exe.

and all the files inside exe directory are getting ownership as "Nobody" and group as "sapinst".

I tried to change ownnership but its not permitting.

hi,

Host name has been overridden. Using host name 'shvprddb' which might not be the real host name.

check your host name. and be sure you are doing installtion using root user.

check usr/sap file system prmissions and owner

Hi Nitin

Hostname is correct I can ping it too.

I was installing using root and thn tried with svpadm(SIDADM) and went through. but got stuck at creast database file system

Hi,

I already set 777 permision on /sapmnt/SVP/exe.

Now check permission of /sapmnt/SVP. If they are ok then check permission of /sapmnt.

If parent folder does not have sufficient permission,process can not change in child folder.

Also check UID of your user id. If installation is started by root then you should not face these issues.

After setting permission it went throguh but got stuck at "create datbase file system" with follwoing error -

Hi,

Does any one have idea of mount pots and NFS mounted system for cluster installation ????

What Im following is as -

all the mount points are on Node A and NFS file system

(/sapmnt, /sap/usr and /sap/trans)

primarily has to be on Node A and NFS mounted to Node B.

Is it write or wrong ??????????????
