Hii
you can use JSPM to apply JAVA packaeges.
here you can find the info. on doing that
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/EN/1f/c45b4211aac353e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
and
http://www.saptechies.com/jspm-support-with-nw04s-java-support-package-manager/
You can also apply using SDM.please find the procedure below:
http://www.saptechies.com/applying-java-patches/
I use JSPM though to apply patches

Rohit
well Shivaji there are no major prereusities as such
What SAP says is:
1. its better to have your database backed up before applying the patches
2. you must download the packages to the directory /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in
3. and that <sid>adm user has the permissions to the directory /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in
These are the three main prerequesites that you need to follow:
Just deploy the patches, only thing being back up your database for sure
Rohit
Hello Shivaji,
I will try to explian you in my words:
First we will update JSPM patch level
1. Go to usr\sap\SID\DV*\j2ee\JSPM directory and then double click on go.bat to start JSPM using <sid>adm user
It will then ask for select package type, select Single support package and under
NWDI control select No NWDI Control
when you select Next, select the support packs to be appplied
choose sap.com\JSPM and then upload the pack
click on next and then Start ,it will show status as in progress
After that the status will be deployed.\.
Then restart JSPM to apply the rest of support packs
This time under select package type, select support and enhancement support packs
then select the support packs to be applied and then start.
This will deploy your support packs
You will get a better picture when you do it urself
I guess this will help you,Let me know of any questions
Rohit
hi,
You dont need to uncar the file as SDM and JSPM can directly deploy .sca..sda files.
so you only need to place those files in that directory.
SDM and JSPM both can be used to apply JAVA packages difference being you can deploy all the JAVA support packs available through JSPM at one time only whereas through SDM you can deploy patches for a single JAVA component one at a time
Hope that helps
Rohit
