Solved: DISP+WORK.EXE STOPPED

Hi,

When I starting the server, In SAPMMC Console, disp+work.exe,it shows "STOPPED".

I am getting error from system log :

> "SAP Basis System: Message server disconnected".

> "SAP Basis System: Initialization DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 000256".

> "SAP Basis System: Operating system call recv failed (error no 10054)".

Pls help me in solving this issue.

Hi Nila,

if you don't post details on the problem is very difficult for the community to reply.

In your previous post on the same subject someone asked you to look at the developer traces and eventually to post the traces.

You can find them in the work directory on operating system, look for files dev_w and dev_ms

Hi,

can you restart your host to make sure every SAP process is killed?

I guess you're running windows. Please have a look on the task manager and try to locate all processes running under sidadm. Kill every process. Then try to start the SAP system again. The log files tell us that the dispatcher shuts down, because it tried to stop the J2EE instance but failed.

A clean reboot may help you.

can you check if database is working fine ?

I reinstalled sapstartsrv.exe in kernal path, from usr\sap\sid\sys\exe\uc\NTI386... Restarted the system but still i cant get the solution.

what is dev_disp telling you? Can you post the content of this file please?

the crucial point in dev_disp is:

DP_FATAL_ERROR => DpWPCheck: no more work processes
DISPATCHER EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN ***

together with the syslog message saying that the database connectection failed. All workprocesses stop because they are unable to connect to the database. Details about the reason of this failure can be found in any of the dev_w* files.
