Hi All,

What is XI

What is the use of XI

What is the difference lies b/w xi and ALE/IDOC and

in what way thus the advantage of using XI rather than ALE/IDOC.

where the of Xi / PI exactly comes into the picture and in which scenario it is useful for us to use this other than ALE/IDOC.

please explain me with an example and the scenario's which lies b/w XI/PI and ALE/IDOC.

PI is a middle ware tool used for SAP and NonSAP and for A2A and for B2B

PI can be used for converting the messages frfom one format to another.

where as ALE/IDOC is only used for communication b/n R/3 and other (of course) but some will have the provision to receive data and more over data transformation cannot be done with this..

PI can be used for connecting b/n any two systems unlike ALE
