Could you please provide a brief note on SAP AutoId?

How to Install? What is the use of it and etc.,

Hi Sara,

Let me give you a brief idea of SAP Auto ID

--> SAP Auto Id is the SAP solution for RFID technology

The RFID technology landscape is like this

RFID Tags>RFID Reader>RFID Middleware>SAP AII>SAP ERP

RFID tags hold EPC data

RFID reader reads the data

RFID middleware filters data and sends EPC and read data to SAP AII

SAP AII - Auto ID consists of a set of rules which run based on data that has come from RFID tags.

SAP AII basically filters information (raw RFID info) into business meaning.

Information is converted into business sense and thus can be made into use in SAP ERP.

Hello Yogesh,

i found many informations about SAP AII and RFID Tech. in this Thread, but nothing to a Middleware, witch is essentail for Comm. between RFID Hardware and SAP. help.sap.com is like a cloesed book in this case. I read about BizTalk or Websphere, XI... but all those are to much for an Small Business case. it's unclear for me, what SAP AII need to get DATA from an Reader.

Hi Sara,

SAP Auto ID as its known is SAP Auto ID Infrastructure.

Its part of the SAP's RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) solution which comprises

SAP AII - SAP Auto ID Infrastructure

SAP EM - SAP Event Management

SAP OER - SAP Object Event Repository

To install it, we need SAP Netweaver 2004s to which SAP AII is an add on component. This is the most basic installation. However with new versions the complexity is increasing
