WBS element are not aligned with the project def. numbering

Hi,

We have an issue with a project def (CP104) where the WBS underneath this project def are not aligned with the proj def numbering. Proj Def is CP104 and the WBS are all CL582xxx.

This is causing a problem as it prevents us from saving changes to the WBS.

The CL582 project don't exist.

When we try to do changes following message appear:

Check Required Fields:

u201CThe 5st pos WBS Element includes the Proj.Numberu201D

Do you know the source of this issue and how to close/fix the WBS and Proj Def?

Thanks you

This message is a custom message that appear only in CJ20N. I thought that was a standard message.

We can change the project name in CJ02 transaccion, because in this transaction don't appear the validation.

Thank to everybody

Hi

Is there any link between project definition and WBS number series?, I dont think so. You can create proj definition in one series and WBS elements in other series. Create a new project with correct series and transfer the costs to new project as suggested.

Thanks

in the system there is no link but is always good to set a validation rule to check if they belong to the same series (coding mask)

you need to check the masking codes, any substitution and validations are giving the error etc

obviously the configuration done is very poor

I would basically correct the masks etc and then transfer all costs from this project to a new one and get rid of this by deletion.
