Hi All,
Can the route be different for different line items in a sales order? If yes, how is the requested delivery date is getting calculated in this case? Please suggest.
Regards,
Raghav
Hi
Route is determined by
1. Departute zone (of the Shipping point)
2. Shipping condition (from Sales doc type or SP)
3. Transportation group (from Material master data)
4. Transportation zone (from SH)
So, for different material 'Transportation group" may be different, Shipping point may be different, for different item there may be different SH.
Therefore for different items ,it is possible to have different Route in the Sales order.
Requested Delivery date is not determined by the system.
A default date comes automatically according to the settings/value in the "Lead time" field in the Sale document type (VOV8). If this field is blank then to-day's date will be proposed as the Requested Delivery date.
You can change this date in the Sales order.
Requested Delivery date is the date on which Customer wants to receive the goods.
Syatem calculates the Confirm Delivery date through Delivery scheduling. First it goes for BACKWARD SCHEDULING and tries to confirm the Requested Delivery date if possible.
If the Customer's Requested Delivery date is not possible to confirm then it immediately goes for FORWARD SCHEDULING and gives the next earliest possible Confirmed Delivery date which is different from the Requested Delivery date.
To calculate the Confirm Delivery date during Delivery scheduling, system takes four "Lead time"into consideration. They are
i. Pick/pack time
2. Tr.Planning time
3. Loading time
4. Transit time.
The "Pick/pack time" and "Loading time" comes from the Shipping point.
The "Tr.Planning time" and "Transit time "comes from the Route.
So, if different Routes are determined for different item, then their Delivery date may differ as different Route may have different Transit time and Tr.Planning time.
You can find the Confirm Delivery date for each item in their respective Schedule line.

Hi
Route is based on Departure zone of shipping Point (Coming from CM) + Transportation Group (Coming from MM) + Transporation zone of Ship to party (Coming from CM) + Shipping conditions (Coming from Sales docu. type).
So in same sales order with same customer, Based on Transporation group we can have differerent Routes in one sales order with different materials.
Delivery dates will be different for each line item.
Bye
