No Adpater Engine available in Communication Channel creation

Former Member

Hi,

In Configuration, I Assign my new <i>Business System</i> Object in <i>Service Without Party</i>. After, I try to create a <i>Communication Channel</i>. Whatever the type of my <i>Adapter</i> (ex: File or RFC) and whatever the <i>Software Component Version</i> (ex: 6.40 or 7.0), <b>I never have an Adapter Engine</b> choice in the list box, it is always blank.

What should I do to complete my <i>Communication Channel</i> creation?

Hi,

Refresh the cache of the Adapter Engine.

1) sxi_cache->goto-->AE Cache

2) check for CPA Cache also

Just go thru following link from service.sap.com

https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700002757652005E/HowtoMintorAF.pdf

This might be useful.

Hi,

I'm a very beginner to XI. I don't know where to find <b>sxi_cache</b> and <b>CPA Cache</b>. Can you be more explicit please?

Hi,

Go to Transaction Code SXI_CACHE in the Inetgration Server(XI- ABAP stack) Then you can see the list of components.

Just have a look into Menu Bar - in there goto : <b>GoTo</b>->Adapter Engine Cache ( if the status is green - then it is correct-otherwise you need to refreshit.)

You just go thru mentioned document from service.sap.com/nw04

You will get the full info about that.

Hi Devy,

You can do full refresh using

http://<yourserver>:<j2eehttpport>/CPACache/refresh?mode=full

But if u are not the administrator then you will have to ask your SAP BASIS person to help you.

Also, if you are on SP15 or above, there are couple of OSS notes which u can check out.

Ok, after I reseted all Cache that I found in Wlog /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/06/28/xipi-faq-frequently-asked-questions

it still does not work. I come to the conclusion that it is not a Cache problem.

In RWB, I ran Test of Adapter Engine. There is a Red light with an error message saying :

>>>>>

"Attempt to fetch cache data from Integration Directory failed; cache could not be updated

[Fetch Data]: Unable to find an associated SLD element (source element: SAP_XIIntegrationServer, [CreationClassName, SAP_XIIntegrationServer, string, Name, is.09.pwdf2709, string], target element type: SAP_BusinessSystem)

[Data Evaluation]: GlobalError"

<<<<<<<

I have a similar error in Configuration when I look in Environment -> Cache Notification.

>>>>>

Unable to determine the name of the central Adapter Engine from SLD at this time...

<<<<<

I come to the conclusion that is more than a Cache problem. I can't select any <b>Adapter Engine</b> if I don't have a XI Adapter (where I can select <i>Integration Server</i>.)

Any other suggestion?

HI,

Just try with Visual Administrator to check the services for the adapter engine are running or not

All services starts with SAP XI..

SAP XI AF Core

SAP XI AF CPA Cache

SAP XI AF Messaging

SAP XI Adapter XI

SAP XI AF Security

Did u check howtoGuide about Adapter Monitoring from service market place. (link is given).

Check SAP note on CPACache- 741214 and also 824236.

For this you need to go service.sap.com website .

HI Davy,

I had this same problem a box XI. The reason is not to have made the step "Importing the XI Content for Software Component Version SAP Basis 6.40" of the installation guide, in the chapter "Post-Installation Activities". After this, perform the initial Adapter Engine Cache Refresh.

Hello all,

Thank you for your good advise. I have unfortunately not the permission to use VisualAdministrator or to change the configuration of my XI Sandbox. I will contact the system administrator and tell him what I have tried and what is going wrong.

Thank you

Davy

Hi Davy,

You do not need to use the Visual Administrator. Just import the latest version of the SAP Basis Software Component into the Integration Repository.

The adapter metadata is contained in that SWC, under the namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/System

Cheers

Manish
