To PS Guru's about Reservations in Project

I am currently facing an issue where the system allows to change the status of the project to "CLSED" even though the project has some reservations against it,but the system wil not allow the same when the project has a PO or Purchase Requisition against it because of the open comitments.

Is there anyway or what are the ways to make the system to reposond with an error when closing a project when it has Reservations against it.???

Hi,

As the reservation is not the commitment item so the system wont issue the error message while closing the project.

One more thing as per the standard SAP setting the reservation will be valid for 30 days only,but the MM consultant can change this setting as per the requirement.

Try with this in Change profile setting in IMG with transaction OPSG.

Here allow for the transaction is set as warning in standard setting,make this as the error message in Activity confirmation or the component view & check.

Make the setting before completion of any activity completely the system should not allow to close the project & try it.

A material reservation is just a proposal and does not create any commitment for the project, therefore, the behavior is as expected and the reservations are cancelled when the CLSD status is set.

I don't have access to the system to look but, you may want to look at using a user status or a user-exit to validate that no reservations exist before being able to set the CLSD status.
