super_admin_role is missing - portal is not functioning - please help

Hello,

In NetWeaver 2004s SP15 -

The super_admin_role which is the basic role for adminsitration & content - is missing,

thus creating major issues with themes & administration.

We tried fixing it by renaming the "com.sap.portal.super_admin_role.ept.bak" file and restarting -

the file did get redeployed - but the role is still missing.

Does anybody have a clue how to restore this vital role ?

Any help will be appreciated !

Adi

content_admin_role System Admin roles for starting?, or login

I can login to the portal with Administrator

if you have only JAVA ...

After navigate to system administration --> permission , are you see portal content here ?

Hmm, you are screw up your portal ) I do not know ar this is possible and my solution for you is open OSS call to sap, but any other role you can Import in portal from

User administration -- > import , and it's example about super_admin :

[role]
rid=pcd:portal_content/administrator/super_admin/super_admin_role
rdesc=Super Administration
action=UME.Manage_All;UME.AclSuperUser

group=SAP_J2EE_ADMIN

Try to open Call to SAP. Regards.

Hi Adi,

You can also create a role with the same details as above thread. use the id of the role same as above.

P.S. ! group=SAP_J2EE_ADMIN is for ABAP+JAVA instances.

Required group for you you can find in UME, select group and find Group of UME administrators.

Hi,

I've used Gowrinadh's idea with Sergo's Syntax - and the role is back .

Now everything is back in place.

Thank you so much !! Points have been given to both of you !

Hi,

Try adding the user to adminstrators group and access the system. You can also create a role with all the available actions in the portal, which will thus become a super admin role.

Hi,

pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/administrator/super_admin/com.sap.portal.super_admin_role seems to be predefined role. isn't it?

Have made any changes before this has happened?

Hi,

Yes, it is a predefined role - but now it's gone.

There weren't any changes in the system that we know about.

We've noticed it beacuse in "Content Administration ---> Portal Content" the folder "Portal Content" is missing.

It is missing because by default the owner of this folder is super_admin.

When we look for this role in Identity Management - it's not found.

We managed to produce this exact problem in a development portal by deleting the super_admin role.

Now we look for a way to restore it.

Any ideas ???

Thank you,

Adi

Hi and thank you all for your replies ,

I can login to the portal with Administrator & even with my own user.

However - the folder "Portal Content" which holds all the apps & themes is not visible due to the

fact that the only owner of this folder is "super_admin".

Is there no tool that helps re-create default roles that have been deleted ?

If it was a custom made role i could understand that maybe i can't restore it.

But we're talking about a default - predefined role and the most important of them all :

The Super Administrator Role.

I read the help doc about permissions but i don't see a way it can help this situation.

There has to be a way....
