IDES SAP R/3 4.7

HI,

Can anybody tell me about media prepration for IDES SAP R/3 4.7. I have installed SAP R/3,ECC 5 ECC 6 many times on different palteforms. But i am installing IDES SAP R/3 4.7 first time.I have alredy IDES S/W from market place.I want info just like mention in snote Note 1244548 - IDES ERP 6.0 ECC 6.0 SR3 for ECC 6. How i can manage export cds & LABEL.ASC for installation.

I am installing SAP on

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0 Sever Edition 32-bit x-86

Oracle 9i.

Usually you don't need to "manage" with anything

http://service.sap.com/installations

--> Entry by Application Group

--> SAP Application Components

--> SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE

--> SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE 47X200

--> IDES-Version

--> Linux

Just follow the normal installation guide and use the dvd from the ides package or, in your case, the downloaded dvds.

Make a directory for each dvd and copy the contents in it If i remember correctly, you download zip-archives, so you can unzip the archives to the specific directories.

And when sapinst asks you where the dvd is mounted, point to the directory.

Thanks for reply. In actual SAP R/3 4.7 there are 7 exports CDs ,But in Case of IDES there are 13 CDs. How we can prepare . I am giving you an example of IDES ECC 6 from SNOTE which i mention in my previous post.

How to prepare the three Export-DVDs for an installation as a System-Copy
in order to use 32 bit hardware:
Copy all three DB-Export DVDs to disc. They have the structure
- DVD1
EXP1
DATA
DB
- DVD2
EXP2
DATA
DB
- DVD3
EXP3
DATA
DB
EXP4 (not relevant)
..
EXP11 (not relevant)
Now move all files from DVD2/EXP2/DATA to DVD1/EXP1/DATA
Now move all files from DVD3/EXP3/DATA to DVD1/EXP1/DATA
Now modify file DVD1/EXP1/LABEL.ASC
Change the text line in the file with an editor from
SAP:ECC:600SR3:EXPORT(1/11):Installation Export:CDxxxxxxxx_1
to
SAP:MIG:*:EXPORT(1/:*:*
