Basic terms in SRM

Hi all,

I am new to the SRM.When i have gone through the wiki in SDN i could see some terms like shopping cart,RFx,Auction,etc.,

I could not understand these terms.Can any one please elaborate these terms so that i can have a better understanding.

Hello Rama,

Shopping cart: is nothing but your cart..where you will collect all the items into your cart and finally you will order the cart. for example if you see any site like DELL you can find shopping cart funcationality.

RFX: is nothing but common term for Request for quotation, Request for information, Request for propsal

Auction: is nothing but live auction....i can give simple example for this Ebay site...

Please go through sap help then you will understand entire SRM basic functions.
