connecting to /sap/bc/srt/rfc thru sap connecter for .net v2.0.1

good day all,

we have a current process using c#, sap connector for .net v2.0.1 and sap 4.6c that allows data to be passed from the c# programmers, to sap via rfc function module.

we are currently upgrading to ecc 6.0 and this process has stopped working.

we would like to implement soap in sicf and have started the process of configuring this. when testing the service, it is connecting and looks good. but, when the c# programmers send there data to sap thru the .net connector, it is failing on two errors. firstly, error 401 authorization error. this is when the userid and password are passed, it does not log in, and the userid is locked. when i setup the userid and password in the service, the error is "Client found response content type of 'text/html', but expected 'text/xml'".

if anyone has any background in this, i would appreciate some help.
