Rocky what Juan means is have you configured your SAPGUI at the front end to use that logon groups

You need to configure SAPGUi to use those logon groups... so basically you need to change the entry on the gui to use a group instead of an specific server.

Hello Rocky,

try this

open you sapgui, choose the system which is having logon groups and then click on change

under Connection->give connection type as Group/server selection

when you do this,in the sapgui screen there will be an option for Group/server,under that you logon groups will appear, just choose which one you want to give and then save

Hope this helps

Open the SAPGui -> New item -> User specified System -> Connection type -> Group / Server selection -> Choose the group and enter all details needed.

As simple as that

there give the ip address of message server and then give space and the hostname of the message server and then save your entries

Host file should have the name and ip address of your hosts and its located in C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

Services file should contain a sapms<SID> and the port 36XX/tcp where XX is the instance number and its located at C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services

Hi Rocky,

Since you have two threads open on the same subject that are quite long, asking detailed step-by-step questions about creating/using logon groups, can I please suggest that you first read the help documentation on Logon Groups and try to configure it. Thank you.

Best Regards,

Matt

Hi Rocky,

In host file the entries should be like

192.168.0.1 system1

(i.e. IP Address Hostname)

Kalyan
