TNS:protocol adapter error occurred

Hi Gurus,

I am trying to setup ecc 5.0 web as abap with oracle 9i as database.Now while installing Oracle I have chosen the option for not to create the database automatically as sap creates its own database.

Now when i tried to install the database instance then i got an error in the database load or somewhere nearby that "TNS:protocol adapter error occurred".

Now Shall I install the databse automatically??

or there is a way out from here.

Hi Mishra,

Check whether the listener is up and running.

Check this by running the command from cmd prompt lsnrctl stat

If not,start the listener service lsnrctl start

No, try to solve the error you're getting. you've to install sap according to the installation guide.
