SAP_EXPA vs SAP_ALL ?

about to do a client refresh of a qa client from production, but getting confused about these two copy profiles. I understand the meaning of SAP_ALL but SAP_EXPA is a little confusing. The documentation states that SAP_EXPA means SAP_ALL plus the cross client customizing data. WHAT is the meaning of cross client customizing data ??? Does it mean all the data at the workbench level ?? All the development work ??? If so, wouldnt importing all the workbench stuff into my QA client affect all the clients in my QA system ?? Why would one use SAP_EXPA rather than just doing a system copy ??

please shed some light on this.

Thanks

hello

yes cross client customizing means all development work, but dont ever use this to copy from prod to qa.

Client-independent data and thus all clients in the target system are affected by this and can be destroyed.

Client-independent customizing must only be copied to create a new system

previously Client-independent Customizing can only be transported via Export/Import method, but SAP now delievers the following profiles:

SAP_EXBC, SAP_EXPA and SAP_EXPC.

so its better use SAP_ALL

Hope it helps

Rohit
