Log size and duration of selection of msg in xsmb-moni

Hi,

I want to know if there is a limit to the duration of the days we select (like 3 , 6 months) while displaying the message in moni.

Since the message is going to use disk space is there a way we can monitor it and delete/backup the old messages.

Hi Amit,

i dont think we have a limit to the number of days in sxmb_moni.u can even see message displayed for a particular day for a particular period of time.

Hi Amit,

have a look at the Deletion and Archiving Procedure in XI. This is the proper way to remove processed messages from the database and is described in the Help. To delete messages you just need to schedule a job, for archiving some more configuration is needed. For the selection of messages to monitor there is not really a restriction on the time limit, however there is a certain limit of messages (around 2000) to be displayed with which the transaction can cope in a performant way. Displaying more than this limit of messages is not really recommended. Anyway there is criteria which can be used (other than time) to restrict displayed messages so that should not really be a problem. Common selection criteria would be only erroneous messages, messages for a specific sender, messages for a specific receiver etc.
