Hi All
What is meaning of Bill Of Lading?
Where it is available in Sales Documents
Akash
Bill of Lading is one of the export documents which is issued by the Shipping Agent who takes the export cargo and deliver to overseas customer's port. This means, the shipping agent's responsibility starts once they take the cargo into the Vessel (Ship) and ceases once the Vessel reaches the destination port. In between these points, if any damage arises to cargo, they will be held responsible and they have to compensate for the damaged cargo value.
Last but not least, if you searched in google, you would have find answers to this question.
thanks

BOL is one of the transportation documents in shipping. During transportation, the delivering organisation provides the material to the shipper to be delivered to the customer. After receiving and verifying the cargo, the shipping company will issue the BOL to the delivering organisation. Now this BOL is sent to the customer. The customer on the production of this BOL to the shipper in his place, can get the materials. It is something similar to waybill in our normal courier/cargo transfer.
In SAP, BOL is enabled by means of some standard output types like CMR1, CMR2, BOL1 etc. Apart from these, there are also some EDI output types like ALTR which can be used to transmit the BOL to other systems.
BOL as the document can be classified into various types. Some useful links to know about BOL in general
