Posting keys FSG and GL Field status variant

Hi gurus,

If I make wbs element field suprress in posting keys FSG and requirement field in GL FSG, Which will supersedes at the time of posting a transaction?

and what is the purpose of having 2 field status at posting keys and GL?

Hi Hari,

If different/conflicting field status is defined for the posting key and the GL account then following is the priority that the system adopts:

1st priority => Required

2nd priority => Suppressed

3rd priority => Optional

I think having FSG at Posting key level as well as GL level is to provide flexibility in screen design. For eg if you want some field optional for all GLs except for a particular GL FSG then you can keep optional in the posting key and Required in one or more GL by setting up the same in FSG of those GL accounts
