Hi,

BI system can be:

1. within Solman

a. as a seperate client(default client for BI is 001) or

b. as same client used for solman configuration

This depends upon how you activate BI in your solman system using TCode: RSA1.

2. a seperate system

When you run diagnostics agent setup wizard for Managing system, you will have all these above said options to specify BI System.

So it's how you setup your BI system.

Hi,

SMD Agent should be installed once per Host (or say Managed system). And that Managed system/host may contain any number of ABAP/Java/Standalone systems(& there combination).

To configure Solution Manager Server, please refer to guide

Root Cause Analysis Installation and Upgrade Guide available @

https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700000271732008E

Note 1148028 & refer attached document for Solution Manager SLD configuration

To install SMD Agent manually, please refer to guide

Diagnostics Agent Setup guide available @

https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700000324022008E

I hope this information will be helpful.
