Active substitute ruling (for example, for absence due to vacations): In this case, the items belonging to the absent person are automatically assigned to the substitutes inbox (in addition to his own work items).

In Active substitution, the workitems of the user who is going on vacation are immeadiately displayed to the substituted user.

Passive substitution (for example, for absence due to illness): the substitute must explicitly assume the substitution and can only view the items of the absent person in this mode.

In Passive, the substituted user should adopt substitution to view the workitems in the inbox of the user who is unexpectedly absent..

when active substitution is created from User A to User B, B can see his workitems as well as the workitems of A.

when passive substitution is created, B can't see workitems of A. B has to adopt substitution to see the workitems of A. that means User B can decide whether he want to be the substitute for A or not.

Hello

the system "knowns" this, just because the Manager A push the "Substitute" button

and defines the substitution.
