Budget Transfers

Dear Experts,

I am using 311-Q movement type to transfer Project stock from one Project to another (Ex: A to B).

As a result Budget is getting add back from the initial Project (Ex: A).

If I want to stop the Budget is getting add back to the Initial Project (ex: A) what are the options that I have?

One option would be post a "Budget Return" manually against the Project.

I know it is technically not correct. But I want to know whether there is another movement type that I can use which will not add back the Budget or is there better way of handling this entire process?

Appreciate your suggestions.....

Dileepa.

Hi Dileepa,

One option:

Cost of material being transferred is being debited to the new project hence the old project is getting a credit for the same amount.

If you do not want to have any debit/credit posted then use the option of manually supplying the value of the stock being transferred as zero. this way there won't be any accounting document generated.

To do this you'll need to change the field properties in the movement type to make 'manual value' (Amount in LC) field input ready.

with regards,

Ravi
