IGS and graphics Rendering Problem

Hello Colleagues,

i have an (for me) strange Problem with Business Graphics in WebDynpro.

When i start the Simple Graphics example provided by SAP i get a message “graphics Rendering Problem”. The mistake was NOT the missing url in the Webdynpro property sheet in the Visual Administrator! I also check that the IGS is running. When i connect to http://Portalurl:40080 i see the IGS statistic window.

I try to run the simple graphics example in an fresh installed "Rapid Installer" SP16 Portal and get the same error. Btw, Rapid installer fills the igsurl property during installation automatically. In an third Portal on my Laptop also the Same 8-0 error. Three Portals (all SP16) that can not be random. But where is my mistake?

Some month ago i use the business graphics in an EP6.0 SP9 Portal without problems. There it goes this easy way: Install Portal -> configure IGS url -> use business graphics in Webdynpro.

I did not found anything about the IGS in the Patch-Changes. Are there not documented changes in the last Support Packages?

Hi Patrick,

Did you try to specify IGS server directly in BusinessGraphic`s UI element properties (igsUrl)?

yes i also try this with a small sample application and several urls.

For example:

servername:40080

servername.domainname:40080

localhost:40080

I feel a little dumb asking this one, but, did you stop/start the engines after chaning the URL for the IGS in the engine. I believe that it requires a engine restart.

This is my first action when something dont works in the Portal ;-). Very often it helps. But not here :-(.

Are you giving the FULL URL including Http://

http://<host>:40080

it works now with my own iviews.

I do this:

- delete chartobject in webdynpro

- make new chartobject

- deploy

I think there must be somting broken in my nwds upgrade.

Hi Patrick,

I am also getting the same error.

I am working on NWDS SP13 and EP6.0 SP16.

The IGS is working properly when i load http://<servername:igsport>; url in browser.

In WebDynpro project, i configured all the properties for Business Graphics UI element e.g. igsurl, seriesSource etc.

The problem is that it was working fine with NWDS SP10 and EP6.0 SP11.

So i dont understand whether the problem is with NWDS or EP6.0 SP16 patch...

Any help will be appreciated..

Hi Ami,

i dont know if this was the core-problem, but I

see that there was an additional property (and other changes) for the Graphics Element in Webdynpro that come with a SP. When i upgrade my NWDS i have this additional property (i forgot the name) in new Graphic elements. The old elements does not have this. So i delete the element and create a new element and then it is working.

Are you deploying these applications to the engines from your laptop? Is your NWDS at SP level 16?

Hello Rich,

the simple Graphics tutorial was delivered with the portal. I dont deploy it.

But i also make a small Webdynproprojet with only an chartobjekt to make sure that there is no error in the SAP sample application.
