Dear Mithun,

Please refer your previous thread.. It will answer this thread also..

In SD, we have additional functionalities like Orders Scheduling, ARun(Allocation Run), etc..

In MM, no change in the process flow. Additionally some views are addes in the material master as mentioned in the previous thread..

For your info: I have copied and pasted the info on previous thread below..

Please close the thread if you feel it as answered..

Dear Mithun,

AFS is an enhancement made to the standard SAP to meet the requirements of Apparel and Footwear industries..

In Apparel and Footwear industry - we will have different sizes, colors, quaility for a particular product..

To reduce the large volume of data - AFS have introduced the functionality GRID.

(Ex: Tshirt - white color - size 32 ; TShirt - white color - size 38

In this case, we do need to create two material master for this data.

In AFS, we will create master grid - there we will assign all these characteristics combination - it will be assigned to one material master , thus reduces large volume of data)

Some products will be sold only in particular seasons. To handle this AFS provides seasonality function..

If the customer wants Quality A product, but we are having only quality 2 product in our hand, and hence we can deliver only quality 2 to the customer. To handle this functionality, in AFS category structure and coverage strategy have been used..

To allocate the resources to the requirements in an optimum manner, we will use ARun(Allocation Run) in AFS.

To schedule the delivery dates in sale order itself - we are having Order Scheduling functionality in AFS. Don't confuse this with the delviery schedluing(Forward/ Backward)..

Availability check is also extended in AFS with the above mentioned features.
