Someone of you can check and tell me if the structure of my directories (and files) is it right or i'm missing something ?
It's quite strange because i didn't have any problem during the extraction of the .rar files
Also if you never had this error, please check the dvd structure and tell me if mine is like yours or not and in this case please tell me what i'm missing.
Thanks a lot to all of you that will support me
Andrea
Hi,
I finally found a solution.
As Valerio said the directory is partialy empty. There are files in there but some are missing. It's not a build but an extraction error. The first time I tried to install the release I extracted the two files .tar archive with WinZIP. There were no errors, but in the specific folders some files are missing. After extracting it with "winrar" the files were there and the installation was successful.

Jörg

Hi,
Jörg, you hit the point!
Now using winrar to uncompress files, i don't have that strange error anymore.
While i'm writing, my istallation is going on....
Now ... i don't know if it will be end right but for this specific problem, i can close the thread.
Rw.pnts to you Jörg!
Best regards
Andrea
Apparently there is an other problem that can lead to a similar error message. I was trying to install the Sap Sneak Prev. 7.01 SP03 in a VM (Sun Virtualbox). Therefor I extracted the archive in a directory on my local drive and shared this folder with the VM.
In Virtualbox shared folders appear as network drives. It turns out that the installer is not able to cope with network drives. Even after I mapped the network drive the installer was not able to perform the ABAP import.
Finally i created a temporary virtual disk copied all the files to this disk and installed the Sap Sneak Prev. from there without any problem.

Did you resolve this? I am getting the same problem. The files in the part2 of the rar file seem to be the same as part1. When I extract using winrar I end up with a total of 500 files exactly which is the same number as are in part1.
WinRAR seems to say that there are 500 files in part1 and 126 files in part2.
Please advise.
Thanks
Rich

Hi Andrea,
I see that these directories are empty, and the installer gives errors:
/SAP_NetWeaver_701_SR1_Export/DATA_UNITS/EXP2/DATA
/SAP_NetWeaver_701_SR1_Export/DATA_UNITS/EXP3/DATA
while this directory is full of data, and the installer gives no error:
/SAP_NetWeaver_701_SR1_Export/DATA_UNITS/EXP1/DATA
So, I could think that probably this build was not created correctly, because some directories/files are missing

Valerio

Hi,
I encountered exactly the same problem. I've installed JDK 1.4.2_b07 as mentioned, downloaded from the JDK for business site. Installation source is available on local HD, short directory name without spaces. OS is Windows XP Prof. SP2.
Is there any solution available yet?
Kind regards
Jörg

Hi
"does not have valid structure of subdirectories" looks strange to me.
can you try checking is there any space between the dump of your cd labels, just give a try rename your dump with some small naming convesion.
Last option try downloading the software again from service market place.

Hi
Can you paste the log " import_monitor.java.log" so that we can drill out more on this.

Uday

Hi Uday
yes i could but ... it's too big (about 600 kb files).
So i copy /paste only the last interesting rows of the logs (after db installation and run)
As you'll see, i tried to execute the 17 step again, but the sapinst program died with an ugly error!

Hi
I think you have a wrong JDK installed
Note 716604 - Access to Sun J2SE and recommended J2SE options
With 1.4.2_18 and 1.4.2_19 we are currently having massive stack overflow and also access violation problems on Windows x86
(64bit) with our default parameter set. The issue is still under investigation. Additionally we see a performance regression
with Java Systemcopy on 1.4.2_18
Use this link for downloading JDK
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/SAPsite/download.html
Hope this will help you
Regards
Uday

Hi Uday,
thank you for your answer.
My Os is 32bit. And i have installed version Java 1.4.2_19-b04 (download from the sun)
The link you provide me contains java 1.4.2-19-b07. So the version is the same and i think i don't have to download and install a 64 bit java version.
Also ... i think i need the JRE (JAVA Runtime Enviroment) and not the SDK (Software Delevoper Kit).
Thank a lot anyway.
Other hints/suggestions ??
Andrea
