JMS need of XI ?

do you know if, to use JMS, we need of XI ?

In the sap system of my client, there's not XI, there's other way to use JMS ? Wich one ?

JMS is a messaging system which provides persistance and guranteed delivery of messages.

Use JMS client API you can call it from any application.
