Subcontracting in SNP Std PA & PB

Hi,

We have configured the subcontracting scenario using std. subcontracting PA & PB. Apart from this we have Std SNP Planning and data view configured.

Is it possible to merge these two. ie try to configure the subcontracting scenario in SNP Std PA & PB. This would be inserting relavant KF's and accordingly all the macros needs to modified.

Is there a work around this? cause when we insert some KF's the other macros logic gets changed and we need to rework on all the macros.

Or can we use the Subcontracting Std. PA, PB and configure the SNP std planning here. Will it affect thee Standard Planning run in any fashion?

or has anyone come across such req. to merge two scenario's?? Please share your inputs

Looking forward for inputs from configuration and execution perspective.

Thanks

Hi Aswath,

Standard SNP planning can be done in subcontracting planning book. In our scenario we have few products which are planned at subcontractor location. But most of the products are inhouse produced and for both these scenarios we use standard subcon PB and face no problems.

Tou can try it. Also since we had used PDS instead of PPM we didnt face issues in convertion. Infact subcon scenario works best with PDS.

Best regards,

hi Aswath

i would suggest you take a simple PPDS run than going in for all these planning area level changes. The basic data like schedule lines and P req. of the main plant will be visible in the std. SNP planning book but still if u want to see the other categories too you can include them in the category groups assigned to the planning area.

In my present project we have a lof of subcontracting and its best delt with PPDS heuristic. Since u ll be ciffing subcontracting PPM no need to convert them to SNP .. that ll make ur work easier too and future maintanence of data little easier.
