Hi,

Have a peculiar issue on one of our ECC 6.0 servers. Message server port which is normally 36+<Instance number> on our server actual instance number is 00 but in transaction smms it appears as 3602 i.e wrongly defined.

Can any one guide how to change this port.

Regards,

Raj

HI

Do you have any applications servers installed in it btw what is the your OS.

Check in etc/services for sapms port number you can change there.

also check in profiles DEFAULT.PFL there you can change message server port.

Please cross check twice before doing any changes,if not it will effect your SAP system

Dear Raj,

this is set with the profile parameter

rdisp/msserv

rdisp/msserv_internal

Normally, this will be set to sapms<SID>, thus resolving through /etc/services, but you can also set something else, e.g. a specific port number.

Best Regards,

Tim
