Did you mean:

the launching time of integration builder is extremely longer

Dear XI experts

I will tell you our story.

When I execute Demo examples (Chapter 5.1.3 Executing and Testing – XI 3.0 Demo Examples Configuration)

We got the error “STRING_BAD_REF dump when starting BSP application”, I found out the solution : SAP Note Number : 869197

We did upgrade to a 6.40 kernel patch level 48 as mentioned in the SAP note.

After that, whenever I launch (start) the integration builder, it takes for ages.

And [integration builder launching screen]

Ironically the websites related to Java engine pop up as usual, such as SLD, Java start page and so on. Also after few minutes I can get the integration builder in front of my eyes. However, whenever I try to create objects or call some information from the server it also takes time.

Which part do I need to look at in details?

Thank you for your reading.

I will appreciate your any comment.

Regards,

David

Hi David ,

We have upgraded to Service patch SP14

As well we have upgraded the RAM to 8GB

and used External definition as in our case the

Idoc we are using is really big .

These steps solved our response time problem.

Hi David,

Please try this method also..

1.Goto Control panel->Java->

2.In General Tab, click on Network settings:

3.Make Check mark for <b>Bypasss proxy server for local address</b> option.(This technique may speed up if your browser/Webstart is configured for proxy server).

Dear udo & Ananth

Thanks,

We don't use Proxy server .

The qurious thing is before we upgrade ABAP engine side, it worked fine.

After i execute "Re-initialization" , I feel it become fast a little bit.

However, most of response time with XI , SLD, something related to J2EE Engine( I guess) are still slow.

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

hmm, that's what i do if something strange happens with IB:

1. delete temp internet files and check again

2. restart Java stack in transaction SMICM and check again

3. delete and reinstall the JRE and Java Webstart at client computer and check again

Dear udo

Thanks,

System admin is coming on Monday, i will ask him.

BTW, According to http://www.sap-press.com/product.cfm?account=&product=H982 , page 161 , Chapter 7,

"The Integration Server is implemented in ABAP on SAP Web AS 6.40 and uses its middleware technology, for example, the internet connection framework(ICF)."

so i assume there is some possibilities that my issue is related to ABAP side (?).

What do you think?

David

Hi Daniel,

i dont think so. Your IB at Java Web Start communicates with the Java part of WAS. The ABAP part is more bussy during runtime of messages. But of course i cant excluse ABAP stack as reason of bad IB performance.

Udo
