LiveCache Server Install stuck on step "Create database Schema"

Hi,

I am trying to install LiveCache Server 7.7 using MaxDB as the database on a Windows 2003 Server (64 bit). However, it seems to be stuck on the "Create database schema" step. This is the last step on the installation. We run it for 24 hours without the step completing. We retried several times but the same result. I have seen that this happened to somebody on a different forum but no solution was provided. Any help is appreciated.

Willy

Hello,

-> Are you using the "@" character in the passwords of the database users?

-> May be the issue is similar to the reported in the SAP Note 848436?

-> Please try to run the installation with default passwords:

control/control

superdba/admin

sap<SID>/sap

-> See the documentation at http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_7/default.htm -> Database Administration -> Managing Users

-> Conventions for User Names and Passwords

-> SAP Note 767598 (SAP MaxDB: Available Documentation)

-> As SAP customer you have the option to create the OSS ticket on this issue, we could login to the system to review the problem & discuss the issue in more details.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi Natalia,

I tried searching for OSS note 848436 but it gave me a message stating that it is either in rework or an internal sap note. I will try your suggestion about the passwords and see what happens.

BTW, I have reported to SAP already but i I have not receive any answers yet.

best regards,

Willy

Hello,

-> what is the OSS message number?

-> The note 848436 is outdated, please see SAP note SAP Note No. 967742.

Thank you & best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi Natalia,

You solved my problem. You are right, do not use the @ character as the 1st character on the password. The SAP online documentation is misleading (it suggests that @ as a first cahracter should be used on password).

Thanks a lot,

Willy
