Minimum Architecture for Connecting a Smart Meter into SAP IS-U

Former Member

Hi everybody,

I´m new to this forum and hoping, that I have found the right place for my Question here - if not please tell me or feel free to move my topic to the right place.

I want to set up a small AMI infrastructure and integrate them into SAP IS-U.

This is for having just a small test-environment, where I'm thinking of just one smart meter to connect to SAP IS-U. I would like to communicate to this Meter using the AMI enterprise services and do such things like reading consumption-date or disconnecting the Meter.

Thanks in advance, best regards

Manuel Simbeck

Hi,

Your query needs a deatiled response.. Following may answer your query..

1. Enhancement of Device Category and Device

- Qualification as Smart Meter

- AMI Capabilities of the Meter and of the Advanced Metering System (AMS)

- Relation to the MDUS/AMS

2. Enhancement of

- Business Warehouse Content of Device Category/Device

- Business Object repository (Device) to enable Business Workflow for AMIrelated

processes

- Master Data Generator and Migration Workbench (Device/Installation/

Removal/Replacement)

3. Regional Structure and Grid:allocation of an Advanced

Metering System

- Assigned to Division

- Availability for Default, Search Help and Checks (e.g. for installation process)

- Optional Maintenance

- Assignment on City or Street Level (Regional Structure)

4. Meter Reading Document u2013 New Fields

Advanced Metering System (AMS); transmission status (TRANSSTAT);

transmission date (TRANSDATE) and time (TRANSTIME)

5. Sending of Meter Reading Orders

- Creation of MR Orders 􀃆 XML Message 􀃆 PI and update of status

- Possibility to save transaction without meter reading results

- BAdI: General decision whether an XML message should be created /

sent directly

- Meter Reading Unit 􀃆 NO (Performance)

- Contract, Installation, Devices 􀃆 YES

- Possibility to store confirmation from sending of a meter reading request

6. Receiving of Meter Reading Results (triggered from SAP)

- Receive and storage of meter reading results

- Update of status in meter reading document

7. Receiving of Meter Reading Results (pushed by AMS)

- Automatic creation of meter reading orders (technical reasons)

- Handling of different scenarios, e.g. update of meter reading results, etc.

- Confirmation is sent to AMS

Please let me know need more details.

Thanks

Hi,

thank you Vinod for your effort so far. I have to admit, that I doesn't have much of expertise in SAP IS-U. So let me please just check if I have got everthing right.

From a System perspective I will need the following:

- Smart Meter

- AMI-System

- MDUS-System

- SAP NetWeaver PI

- SAP eSOA with the AMI enterprise services delieverd in EhP2 and EhP4

- SAP IS-U with (EDM, CRM, EAM, ECM)

Please tell me if - for the sake of a minimum test-drive-installation - I can leave out any of the components (especially if there is any way to skip the MDUS-System or the AMI-System and communicating directly from the SAP-System to the Smart Meter).

Furthermore I'd be glad to know if I will have to create those new fields in the SAP-System or if these are automatically created by installing the Enhancement Packages.

Best regards

Hi all, Does anyone know if there is neccessary to have SAP Netweaver PI 7.1 for implementing the AMI Enterprise Services? or could I use lower versions of XI, like for instance PI 7.0 ?

thanks
