Hi,
Can anyone tell me what do we mean by short shipment and what is the business process. How do we make settlement for short shipment.
Regards
Rahul
Short Shipment is you have invoiced a material for 100 nos. but customer receives only 80 nos. physically. This means, you have short shipped 20 nos.
In SAP, either you can raise a credit note or give discount in the subsequent shipments which are all Management's discretion.
thanks

example of short shipment:
A purchase order is raised with one line for ten boxes of pens. Only eight boxes are in stock with the supplier so they are shipped. The remaining two boxes are still required but in the meantime the invoice for the 8 is raised.
The invoice quantity can be amended from 10 to 8 and the (partial) invoice submitted.
At a later date the remaining two boxes are supplied u2013 another invoice needs to be created against the original order.
