Transporting an entire user-- Is it possible ?

Hi all,

I have created a user in Development system with specific authorizations assigned to it. Can I transport that user to the production system. The user is created in the BW system and needs to be transported to the production of the BW system again. If yes, could anyone tell me what the process is?. Would there be any licensing issue for the same. I know I can transport the user master records. But will I be able to directly use that user in Production system.

Hi,

You can only transport roles from one SAP System to the other. You can move all the users of one client/system to other by using client export/import using client copy profile SAP_USER.

You can use the user directly in the production system.

I did the same. I have transported the role from Dev to Prod, I created a new user and assigned it this role.
