alternative to Remote Client Copy

Dear Friends,

We need to perform Remote Client Copy but it takes lots of time which is not acceptable to the business.

Our database size is 200 GB & Remote copy consumes more than 40 hours.

Our database is MS SQL 2000 on windows OS

Please suggest other alternative to client copy & how much time they will consume.

Hi,

Client export and Import is the best way to copy Huge amount of data.

Without knowing your landscape it is very difficult to suggest. But you can think of homegeneous system copy or offloading the offline backup etc if that is possible.

Hi,

As an alternative you can use client export and import.

export the client using scc8 trx. It will create 3 request depending on your data. Transport those request in target system. Do not forget to perform post processing using scc7 trx.

regarding time frame, it's totally depend on your h/w & the SAP profile you are choosing for client copy. hence difficuolt to comment on it.

but this method surely take less than 40 hrs for 200 GB.
