Proxies and XI Adapter

Hi Experts,

Can anyone explain me about

1) Proxies in SAP PI/XI with examples.Also tell me abot XI adapter and when it is used.

2) Also tell me in brief with some examples about direct connections.How and when it is used.What are the advantages of using direct connection.

Kindly help me.

Dear Viru,

There are two types of proxies availabe in XI

1. ABAP

2. JAVA

you can search for them and you will get lots of information

suppose you are using a inbound receiver ABAP proxy then you have to use Receiver XI adapter

There is no sender XI adapter

Also sometimes one XI system needs to communicate with other XI system at that time also you can use XI adapter
