SMTP configuration

Dear everyone,

Our sap version is ECC 6.0,I want to confirm whether I must configure SMTP on sap server or not?

Hi,

Yes you have to configer.

Just execute

1) Check in SMICM whether SMTP serice active or not.(By default it is active in ECC6)

2) Execute SCOT -> Double click on SMTP give your exchange server information.

3) In SCOT again select goto - > Default -> give *.net or *.com

4) In SCOT again select Utilities -> Routine test -> give i)INT and ii) mail id....

Regarding the other answers in this thread, I guess we both don't understand questions in the same way as others...

Unfortunately seems like people its more interested in getting a couple of points than understanding the question.

But hey.... Maybe we got it wrong!. I'm going to copy&paste the thread in babelfish to see if it makes more sense in Spanish.

What a strange question ! Obviously, you have to configure SMTP if you need to receive and/or send emails from ECC6.

If you don't need emails, don't configure SMTP !
