hi Team,
I am very new to MDM and just ramping up on MDM.
Just want to understand the rational behind having ABAP & JAVA API to create Repositories when we can do manually from MDM Console?
Any business scenarion that would explain the When & Why & How we do with ABAP & JAVA API would be great help.
Thanks
Sekhar

Hi,
The MDM API is an application programming interface for the MDM software. It allows MDM customers to write customized applications for interacting with the MDMserver. ---> MDM Reference guide
In short whenever you need to introduce some customization in the standard MDM functuionality, you are required to use MDM APIs - Java or ABAP depending on application type and usage.

Hi Sekar,
APIs are generally used when you have a heterogenous landsacpe with systems like EP , MDM , BI, legacy and ABAP based systems etc. coming into picture.
Few of the examples to quote may be in case of MDM integration with BI wherein we use ABAP APIs for different fucntionalities incaluding the creation of repositories.
Few other examples may be using Business Workflow, GP, Customized iviews etc.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Minaz
